August 2026 Employee of the Month: Adam Smart

Monadnock Community Hospital is proud to recognize Adam Smart of the IT Department as the August 2026 Employee of the Month. Adam was recognized for the knowledge, responsiveness, patience, and willingness to help that he brings to departments across MCH.

Adam received two nominations highlighting the way he approaches both technical challenges and the people affected by them. One recognized his support as Commonwealth Radiology Associates began working onsite. Adam helped configure a new radiologist workstation, assisted with PACS and speech microphone setup, and repeatedly came to Radiology to troubleshoot issues as they arose.

A second nomination recognized Adam for helping Gift Shop volunteers through months of challenges with a new, malfunctioning cash register. Although the issue was outside his usual scope of work, he remained patient, kind, and accommodating while helping volunteers through a stressful situation.

More About Adam

Adam grew up in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and first came to MCH while working for an IT contractor on a project at the hospital. His skills caught the attention of MCH’s IT team, and he was encouraged to apply for an open position.

Today, Adam works as a Desktop Tech II, helping resolve HelpDesk tickets from across the organization. Whether he is working behind the scenes or troubleshooting alongside employees, his broad knowledge and prompt assistance help keep daily operations moving.

After briefly leaving MCH for a position closer to home, Adam ultimately returned despite a lengthy commute because he values working for a mission-driven organization. For Adam, solving a problem that affects how care is delivered is rewarding, even when the technology and infrastructure involved are never seen by patients.

He is also continuing his training to become a network administrator, expanding the range of expertise he can bring to MCH.

Outside of work, Adam helps manage his parents’ raspberry and blueberry plants and enjoys heading out on his kayak during summer afternoons. When asked what he would choose for karaoke, Adam picked Love to Be Loved by Peter Gabriel.

Thank you, Adam, for supporting employees and departments throughout MCH every day.
