Monadnock Community Hospital Honors Beth LeClair, RN, with 2026 DAISY Award

Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH) recognized nursing excellence during its 2026 DAISY Award ceremony, honoring nurses whose compassion, skill, and dedication have made a lasting impact on patients, families, and colleagues.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that celebrates nurses who provide extraordinary compassionate care. The DAISY Award was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at age 33 from complications of the autoimmune disease Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). During his eight-week hospitalization, his family was deeply impressed by the care and compassion of his nurses, inspiring them to create the award as a way to say “thank you” and recognize nurses who make a significant difference in patients’ lives. The name DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System, reflecting the context of Patrick’s illness. MCH is proud to participate in the program and recognize the exceptional nurses who serve the community each day.

LeClair was selected based on multiple nominations that highlighted her clinical expertise, compassion, and unwavering support for patients and families during some of their most challenging moments.

“Beth was with our newborn son and us for the entirety of being in the emergency department providing exceptional care and keeping our newborn as stable as possible while waiting for DART to arrive.”

Another nominator shared:

“Beth is one I’ll remember by name… She laughed with me when I first stumbled into the hospital… She was also there when my son was delivered in the OR.

I had to make a number of mental health decisions during my stay. Beth reminded me how my dad’s cancer might affect postpartum depression. Recognizing that I was already struggling, I took her words to heart and am thankful for her willingness to listen.”

MCH also recognized Pam Neal, RN, of the Birthing Suite with Honorable Mention recognition. She received two nominations and is a previous DAISY Award recipient.

One nominator wrote:

“Pam was the reason our newborn son was saved.”

Another nominator shared how Neal’s support during labor helped them navigate a difficult and emotional experience with confidence and reassurance.

In addition to the recipient and Honorable Mention, MCH recognized the following DAISY Award nominees:

  • Brianna Blake, Same Day Surgery
  • Darlene Boots, Monadnock OB/GYN Associates
  • John Curran, Same Day Surgery
