102 Years of Care: Honoring the Legacy and Future of MCH

A Century-Long Commitment to Community Health

This year, Monadnock Community Hospital proudly celebrates its 102nd anniversary. From our humble beginnings in 1923—when a group of local visionaries transformed the Parmelee family’s summer home into a rural hospital—we have grown into a trusted health system rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and deep community connection.

For more than a century, we’ve remained focused on what matters most: caring for our neighbors with heart and skill. As we reflect on our history, we also celebrate the progress and partnerships that continue to shape our future.

Reflecting on the Last Two Years

The past two years have brought both challenges and remarkable achievements.

In 2023, we invested in key infrastructure improvements, from surgical upgrades to enhanced behavioral health support, while continuing to expand access through our growing primary care network.

In 2024, we celebrated national recognition as one of America’s 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals and launched new service lines like gastroenterology and cardiology—strengthening care close to home.

Together, these efforts reflect our promise to serve with both excellence and empathy—today and into the future.
