Investing in Community Health: Over $27.2 Million in Impact

At Monadnock Community Hospital, our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our community.

As a nonprofit hospital, we reinvest in programs and services that strengthen access to care, support patients facing financial hardship, and address the health needs of the Monadnock Region. This work extends beyond the walls of the hospital and reflects our long-standing commitment to keeping high-quality healthcare close to home.

In 2025, Monadnock Community Hospital provided $27,239,000 in community benefits.

These investments supported essential healthcare services, financial assistance, community partnerships, and programs that help our neighbors live healthier lives.

A list and pie chart break down subsidized health services ($19.6 million), public programs including Medicaid and Medicare shortfall ($5.935 million), community programs ($715,000), charity care ($681,000), and in-kind donations ($308,000).

How MCH Supported Our Community in 2025

Here’s how these funds were used to address our community’s most pressing needs:

Subsidized Health Services: $19,600,000

Critical services such as emergency care, behavioral health, chronic health programs, and other essential offerings often cost more to provide than they generate in reimbursement. As a nonprofit hospital, MCH absorbs these costs to ensure these services remain available to everyone who needs them.

Charity Care: $681,000

Through our Financial Assistance Program, patients and families received support to help cover the cost of medically necessary care, regardless of their ability to pay.

In-Kind Donations: $308,000

MCH contributed training, meeting space, and other resources to local organizations and emergency response partners, helping strengthen the region’s healthcare and public safety infrastructure.

Community Programs: $715,000

Programs such as Mobile Integrated Healthcare, Parent Support Services, and other outreach initiatives brought care, education, and support directly into homes and communities.

Public Programs Support: $5,935,000

MCH covered the difference between the cost of care and reimbursement from Medicaid and Medicare, ensuring continued access to high-quality care for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and others who rely on public insurance.

Why Community Benefits Matter

Community benefit is one of the most important ways nonprofit hospitals fulfill their mission.

These investments help remove barriers to care, strengthen preventive services, and ensure that vital programs remain available throughout the Monadnock Region. They also reflect priorities identified through our Community Health Needs Assessment, which guides how we respond to the most pressing health concerns facing our community.

A Stronger Community, Together

Every day, Monadnock Community Hospital works to provide compassionate, accessible, and high-quality care. Our Community Benefits Program demonstrates that this commitment extends far beyond hospital walls.

From financial assistance and behavioral health services to community outreach and support for public programs, these investments help ensure that our friends, neighbors, and families have access to the care they need.

Together, we are building a healthier, stronger Monadnock Region.
