Start the School Year Healthy and Prepared

Happy children with backpacks and big smiles running at school

A new school year brings busy schedules, sports, activities and new routines. A few simple steps can help children start the year feeling healthy and ready to learn, from getting enough sleep and staying up to date on annual checkups and immunizations to preventing sports injuries.

We’ve gathered practical resources from MCH and trusted national health organizations, plus information about children’s health services available locally.

Children’s health needs change as they grow. From well-child visits and immunizations to everyday illnesses, nutrition, safety, and questions that come up along the way, families deserve care that feels approachable and supportive.

MCH provides children’s health services through pediatric and primary care teams across the Monadnock Region, helping your household find guidance and care.

Pain Keeping You From the Things You Enjoy?

A healthcare professional examines a patient’s upper back and spine. The patient is wearing a blue shirt and is seated, while the provider uses both hands to gently assess the back area.

When pain, an injury, or a musculoskeletal condition makes it harder to work, exercise, or simply move comfortably, a physiatrist may be able to help. Physiatrists are physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with expertise in conditions involving the nerves, muscles, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments.

At Monadnock Orthopaedic Associates, our Physiatry team focuses on helping patients improve function and return to the activities that matter to them. Treatment is often non-surgical and may include therapeutic exercise, medications, injections, activity modifications, and a personalized rehabilitation plan.
