Provider Spotlight: Liz Peters
Meet Liz Peters, the dedicated cardiac rehab coordinator at MCH since 2013. As a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Physiologist, Liz's journey at MCH began in 2005, navigating through various departments all centered around chronic disease management, fitness, and wellness. It wasn't until later that she discovered her passion in cardiac rehabilitation, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the program's reputation as one of the finest in the state. With unwavering patience and compassion, Liz serves as a guiding light for her patients during their recovery journey. She educates them on essential lifestyle changes, emphasizing the significance of quality nutrition, diet, self-monitoring, and tailored exercise routines. Beyond the hospital walls, Liz is a devoted coach and cheerleader for her boys, Cameron and Aksel, actively participating in their sport of the season. Liz Peters embodies the spirit of care through her commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community at MCH. The expansion, totaling 3,500 square feet, comes as a solution to accommodate a 23 percent increase in patients since 2018. This session provides valuable insights into the basic anatomy of the shoulder, common injuries that can occur, and a range of easy exercises to help you maintain healthy and strong shoulders. Maintain optimal shoulder health with this seminar which offers valuable insights and practical tips. Join us to gain a deeper understanding of your shoulders, prevent injuries, and strengthen your upper body for improved functionality and well-being.
Teddy has a 10+ year history as a personal trainer and strength/conditioning coach, ultimately leading him to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2020 from Husson University in Bangor, ME. Additionally, he has a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science – immunology from Midwestern University in Downer’s Grover, IL. He has several years of experience in both in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation, orthopedics, and advanced experience/interest in fitness and conditioning for all populations, returning people to sport and recreational activity, as well as injury prevention. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, woodworking, sports, and being and avid outdoorsman.
