Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month: Screening and Prevention Resources

Dark blue awareness ribbon on a light blue background

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to focus on prevention and the importance of early detection. Colorectal cancer is highly preventable and very treatable when found early, and screening beginning at age 45 can save lives.

A simple step that can save your life

Most people with colorectal cancer feel healthy at first. Screening can find and remove precancerous polyps before cancer develops, or catch cancer early when treatment is most effective. If you are 45 or older, or have a family history or symptoms, getting screened now is one of the most important preventive steps you can take for your long-term health.

Screening options are safer, more comfortable, and more flexible than many people expect. Our care team is here to answer questions, discuss your options, and help you choose the screening approach that feels right for you.

Early Detection of Colorectal Cancer: Why Screening at 45 Saves Lives
Learn why experts now recommend screening starting at age 45 and how early detection can prevent cancer before symptoms appear.

Watch this expert-led seminar to understand risk factors, screening options, and what to expect during a colonoscopy or other screening tests.

If you are due for screening or have questions about your risk, Monadnock Community Hospital’s gastroenterology team is here to help you take the next step with confidence. Call 603-924-2600 to learn more.
