[post_content] => On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Monadnock Community Hospital is hosting a free Health & Wellness Seminar on Advance Directives at the Wellness Center Conference Room in Peterborough, NH. This panel presentation will explain what Advance Directives are, how they are used in clinical and emergency settings, and how to have conversations that help your loved ones and care team honor your wishes. A notary will be available onsite for anyone ready to complete their documents that evening.
Planning ahead for your healthcare is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and for the people who love you. Advance Directives are legal documents that make your wishes known if you are ever unable to speak for yourself. They remove uncertainty during some of the most difficult moments a family can face.
This free seminar from the Monadnock Community Hospital Health & Wellness Seminar Series will bring together four knowledgeable presenters to walk attendees through the practical details of Advance Directives in a clear, accessible way. No prior knowledge is needed.

Your liver does more than most people realize. It filters your blood, metabolizes nutrients, and plays a central role in your overall health. Fatty liver disease, a condition in which fat accumulates in the liver, has become increasingly common and is often linked to lifestyle factors such as diet, physical activity, and weight. Many people with fatty liver have no symptoms at all, which is why understanding the condition, and knowing what to do about it, matters.
On Thursday, May 21, join Dr. Michael J. Gilbert, MD, MHCDS, of Monadnock Gastroenterology Associates (MGA), and the Southern New Hampshire (SNH) Weight Management team for a free community health seminar focused on liver health. Dr. Gilbert will walk through how fatty liver develops, what the risks are if it goes unaddressed, and what practical steps can make a real difference. The SNH Weight Management team will join to discuss medical and surgical weight management options available to those who want additional support.
