Taking place over the first quarter of 2025, this series includes three seminars led by expert healthcare providers, each focused on a different aspect of wellness: spine surgery advancements, cardiovascular health for women, and colorectal cancer awareness. 

Each session in our series is free to attend and packed with valuable insights and practical advice. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from top professionals and ask questions in a welcoming, supportive environment. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

January Seminar: Innovations in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery 

Date and Time: January 9, 2025, at 5:30 PM 

Location: Bond Wellness Center, Monadnock Community Hospital 

Our series begins with a deep dive into the latest advancements and future of spine care. Dr. Vache Hambardzumyan, an experienced orthopedic spine surgeon from Monadnock Orthopaedic Associates, will lead this session on the latest innovations in minimally invasive spine surgery. Discover how recent advancements in technology and techniques can improve surgical precision, reduce recovery times, and enhance outcomes for patients with spine conditions.

For Gastroenterology- Erika Patnode is no longer a staff member in our department. The name should be Monadnock Gastroenterology Associates and if I could be added there as well. I also noticed that there was Monadnock Surgical Associates and Monadnock Surgical Services, and staff are split between the two. The staff to be listed under Monadnock Surgical Associates should be: Devon Roarick, Jennifer Arsenault, Caitlin Blakeslee, Jessica Johnson Dr. Brian Kwitkin, Dr. Jay Swett, Dr. William Nugent, Dr. Severn Barloco, Dr. John Popovich, Dr. Jeffrey Thurlow, and wound care. Nicole Keon, Patricia Furey, and Nicholas Morris are listed under this as well but are not staff members in our department.

February Seminar: Women’s Guide to Cardiovascular Wellness 

Date and Time: February 27, 2025, at 5:30 PM 

Location: Bond Wellness Center, Monadnock Community Hospital 

In February, Dr. Robert Spencer of Monadnock Cardiology Associates will lead a session focusing on cardiovascular wellness for women. Women face unique risk factors and symptoms for heart disease, which remains a leading cause of death among women in the U.S. Dr. Spencer will cover essential topics like early warning signs, lifestyle changes, and the latest treatments designed to empower women to take proactive steps toward heart health. 

This session is a must-attend for women of all ages who want to learn more about heart disease prevention and management. Take control of your heart health and learn strategies that can benefit you for years to come.

March Seminar: Colorectal Cancer Awareness and Prevention

The final session in our winter series addresses one of the most preventable forms of cancer: colorectal cancer. Dr. Michael J. Gilbert, a respected gastroenterologist from Monadnock Gastroenterology Associates, will discuss colorectal cancer risk factors, screening options, and lifestyle choices that support colorectal health. This seminar will emphasize the importance of regular screenings and educate attendees on proactive steps for cancer prevention.
