A Year of Progress, Community Support, and Lifelong Commitment to Health

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year filled with milestones and gratitude. Guided by insights from our Community Health Needs Assessment, we’ve expanded services, improved access to care, and addressed critical health challenges in our region. From innovative healthcare offerings to national recognition, our commitment to the Monadnock Region has never been stronger.

A Decade of Visionary Leadership

This year marks a significant milestone for Cynthia K. McGuire, who celebrates her 10th anniversary as President and CEO of MCH. Her leadership has been transformative, guiding the hospital through strategic expansions and reinforcing our commitment to compassionate, community-focused care.

McGuire’s impact has not gone unnoticed. She was named to the prestigious “90 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know” list by Becker’s Hospital Review and recognized as part of New Hampshire’s Top Women-Led Nonprofits by Business NH Magazine. These honors reflect her exceptional ability to navigate challenges while continuously improving healthcare access and quality.

Expanding Services, Enhancing Care

2024 saw MCH significantly expand its medical services to meet growing community needs:

New Specialized Departments

  • Gastroenterology: Launched with over 900 patients seen and 500 procedures performed in just three months
  • Cardiology: Addressing the national cardiologist shortage by providing local, comprehensive heart care
  • Rheumatology: Adding specialized treatment for complex conditions like arthritis and lupus

Orthopedic Milestone

Monadnock Orthopaedic Associates (MOA) celebrated its 25th anniversary, continuing to be a cornerstone of orthopedic care in the region.

Community Impact

Our commitment to community health extends far beyond medical services:

  • Invested over $18 million in community support.
  • Provided $392,000 in charity care.
  • The Mobile Integrated Healthcare program, a cornerstone of rural healthcare, now serving nearly half of all state MIH visits.
  • Investments in professional development through the Peter L. Gosline Scholarship, cultivating skilled healthcare leaders within MCH.
  • Support for community events like the annual Keene Family Health Fair, connecting over 300 attendees with critical health and wellness resources.
  • Your generosity during Giving Tuesday brings us closer to acquiring a pediatric ultrasound machine, which will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our youngest patients.
