Outdoor Opportunities

Casalis State Forest

Location: The parking area is located one mile from Route 101 on Route 123 toward Sharon (opentrails.com).
Description: This 228 acres of state forest is an excellent spot to take a hike. It is considered an easy route with the main trial being a 3.0 loop taking approximately 1hr about 8 min to complete

Heald Tract

Location: Different loops which start/end at different places. Look up the location online to find more details.
Description: This tract of land contains good walking loops to explore.

Temple Mountain Reservation and Wapack Trail

Location: Trailhead parking can be located in close approximation to Miller State Park off of Route 101. Parking is also located off of Route 124 entering into Sharon or found on Temple Rd (trailfinder.info.org)
Description: This estimated 6 miles round trip will take you to the top of Holt Mountain if one continues on the Wapack trail. From the trailhead parking off of Route 101, a small loop can be achieved by taking the access road to the top of Temple Mountain followed by proceeding down the Beebe Trail totaling around 1.5 miles.
