[0] => In January 1935, a young New Ipswich man drove his pregnant wife through muddy backroads to a small hospital in Peterborough. There, his wife delivered a healthy baby girl, and the couple named her Gail.
88 years later, that baby is the proud matriarch of four generations, all of them born at that same Peterborough hospital, known today as Monadnock Community Hospital.
“We’re all MCH babies,” Gail laughs. “My daughter was born here in 1960. Her daughter Jennifer arrived in 1982, and my great-granddaughter Madison was born here in 2001.”
Over the decades, Gail has witnessed significant changes at MCH. “When I was small, the hospital was the old Parmelee family home. There were still fireplaces in some patient rooms! But today MCH is a big, modern hospital.”
Gail’s family connection to MCH includes her husband Randy, who worked as a mail room volunteer at MCH for several years.
“We are so grateful to have this wonderful hospital in our community,” says Gail, who recently received orthopedic care and physical therapy at the Hospital. “MCH is our family hospital. We just love it.”

[0] => In January 1935, a young New Ipswich man drove his pregnant wife through muddy backroads to a small hospital in Peterborough. There, his wife delivered a healthy baby girl, and the couple named her Gail.
88 years later, that baby is the proud matriarch of four generations, all of them born at that same Peterborough hospital, known today as Monadnock Community Hospital.
