Honoring the everyday heroes behind the scenes

Every smile, every kind gesture, every hour spent lending a hand—our volunteers are the heart of Monadnock Community Hospital. As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (April 20–26), we’re taking a moment to recognize the incredible people who give their time, compassion, and dedication to support our patients, staff, and greater community.

From greeting patients and offering directions to keeping the The Window Shop running smoothly (which funds vital hospital projects), our volunteers do it all—with warmth and grace. Their presence brings comfort to those navigating care and strengthens the bonds that tie our hospital to the people we serve.

During challenging times, including the pandemic, our volunteers stepped up to ensure patients and staff felt supported. Whether helping organize staff morale events or participating in outreach, their efforts ripple through every corner of our hospital.

“The dedication of our volunteers is truly inspiring,” said Cyndee McGuire, President and CEO. “They give so generously of their time, and their impact is felt throughout every department. Their kindness and service are a gift to our entire community.”

We are deeply grateful for each of our volunteers. They are not just helpers; they are healers, listeners, and friends. Their service reminds us of what community truly means.
