Monadnock Community Hospital's Mobile Integrated Healthcare program received the Monadnock Community Health Impact Award during the recent community health fair. The program stands out for its comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery, particularly in rural areas.

Key highlights of the award-winning program include:

Providing primary care patient services
Sending community paramedics directly to patients' homes
Offering services like wound care and vaccinations

According to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, this program is remarkably effective. In 2022, it represented 49 percent of total visits across the state's 12 Mobile Integrated Healthcare programs, making it one of the busiest in New Hampshire.

Sean Burke, The Sentinel's president and COO, praised the program for "meeting a dire need in our community" by reaching patients where they are and improving both health and social factors.

The award was accepted by Joshua Patrick, lead community paramedic clinician, and Karen Bednarski, dispatcher, highlighting the team's crucial role in addressing healthcare gaps in the Monadnock Region.

Donna Infante, Director of the Emergency Department, was among the first to receive the vaccine, emphasizing the importance of protecting patients, staff, and the community. MCH CEO Cynthia McGuire described the vaccination process as a historic milestone in the fight against the pandemic. Due to limited supply, the hospital followed a randomized selection process guided by ethical considerations. MCH continues to provide staff with updated vaccine information while maintaining strict safety protocols.
