This filing comes after an extensive period of due diligence, approval of the agreement by all three hospital boards, and, with respect to CMC, approval of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Manchester. CMC previously announced a Letter of Intent (LOI) to affiliate with Huggins Hospital in November, 2015 and an LOI with Monadnock Community Hospital in January, 2016. The agreement being reviewed by regulators will result in a more integrated healthcare system to serve the hospitals’ respective communities.

The affiliation allows for Huggins and Monadnock Community Hospitals to forge stronger ties in clinical partnerships with CMC, as well as leverage their resources to build economies of scale. The goals of this affiliation include providing quality care at a lower cost with added services and a seamless patient experience. “We are excited to move forward in ensuring quality health care stays close to home,” said Jeremy Roberge, Interim President & CEO of Huggins Hospital. “CMC and Huggins Hospital have been working together for many years to improve access to cardiology and vascular care for our patients and, in the last month, have begun collaborating on shared hospitalists.” Similar collaborations have also existed for years between CMC and Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH), which also work together on neurology and laboratory services. “We have successfully met the healthcare needs of the Monadnock region for 90 years,” said Cynthia McGuire, President & CEO of MCH. “This affiliation is a logical and strategic step to ensure that access to local, high‐quality health care continues and grows for many years to come.” Under the terms of the Affiliation Agreement, CMC, Huggins, and MCH will continue to operate with assets and liabilities remaining unchanged. Huggins and MCH will continue to be secular, non‐profit community hospitals, and CMC will continue operating as a Catholic, non‐profit acute healthcare system. The hospitals will maintain separate Boards as well as their respective charitable missions, values and traditions. Philanthropic gifts given to each hospital will be used to benefit their local community. Hospitals’ names, logos, and staff will remain. An overarching non‐profit system parent called GraniteOne Health will ensure strategic direction and initiatives for the affiliated system. The regulatory approval process will include further opportunities for comment by the general public and stakeholders of the three hospitals. CMC was viewed as the best organization to affiliate with because past experiences and partnerships were positive and demonstrate a record of shared culture, values and successful collaboration. PETERBOROUGH – The Fresh Chicks Outdoor Marketplace opens its fourth season on Monday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Marketplace is set up on the grounds of the Monadnock Community Hospital, Old Street Road, and takes place every Monday from May until October.

Although not affiliated, the market aligns itself with the hospital’s mission of promoting and enhancing the quality of life for local communities. As a result, Monadnock Community Hospital was recognized nationally in the American Hospital Association’s Community Connections. The market hosts a variety of local vendors and features fresh-picked fruit and produce, mushrooms, baked goods, lamb, pork, beef and chicken, coffee, eggs, cheese, milk, goat milk, ice cream, honey, maple syrup, jams and jellies, take-home prepared food items. Folks will also find annual and perennial plants/flowers and a wide variety of beautiful locally-made artisan crafts, such as jewelry, soaps and herbal products, repurposed glass, fiber, knitted, crocheted, alpaca, fabric and quilted articles, and ironworks. Gift certificates in various denominations are available. This year, the market will again feature its weekly “Where Are The Chicks?” promotion. Find the pair of little felted handmade chicks and receive a $5 coupon to use at the market. There will also be ongoing raffles and weekly music. In addition to regular vendors, the market welcomes guest vendors, nonprofit groups and small businesses. Each week produce and baked goods are donated to area shelters. Cynthia K. McGuire, FACHE will begin in February

Peterborough – Monadnock Community Hospital’s Board of Trustees today announced that Cynthia K. McGuire, FACHE has been selected as the next President and CEO of Monadnock Community Hospital. Cynthia comes to MCH from Adirondack Health, a $90M network of rural facilities where, as Chief Operating Officer, she is responsible for leading all clinical inpatient and outpatient ancillary support services. “Cynthia will begin her role with MCH in February. She has a track record of success that demonstrates she is the right person to lead our Hospital for the next chapter in our 90 year history, at a time when health care is undergoing unprecedented change. She is an innovative and proven leader who values collaboration and team building,” said Bob Edwards, Chair of MCH Board of Trustees. “All of the members of our Board and Executive Search Committee were highly impressed with her throughout her interview process in a search process that began in June.
