In the News: MCH Awards Patricia Boyd Nursing Scholarship to Support Future Nurses
Honoring Patricia Boyd’s Legacy by Investing in Nursing Education
Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH) has awarded the Patricia Boyd Nursing Scholarship, a program designed to support employees advancing their nursing careers. Established through a $75,000 memorial gift from Bob Boyd and a $25,000 annual donation from an anonymous supporter, the scholarship provides financial aid to MCH staff pursuing certifications as licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and advanced practice registered nurses.
In 2024, 13 recipients were awarded a total of $52,500 to further their education. The scholarship honors Patricia Boyd, a former MCH medical staff coordinator, whose dedication to community service and education continues to inspire this initiative.

Key highlights of the award-winning program include:
- Providing primary care patient services
- Sending community paramedics directly to patients' homes
- Offering services like wound care and vaccinations
According to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, this program is remarkably effective. In 2022, it represented 49 percent of total visits across the state's 12 Mobile Integrated Healthcare programs, making it one of the busiest in New Hampshire.
Sean Burke, The Sentinel's president and COO, praised the program for "meeting a dire need in our community" by reaching patients where they are and improving both health and social factors.

On October 6th New England Compounding Pharmacy (NECC), announced a recall of all of its products that were compounded at and distributed from its facility in Framingham, Massachusetts. One of those products (preservative-free 
Peterborough, NH – Pamela A. Stetzer, D.O., F.A.C.O.O.G, an obstetrician at Monadnock OB/GYN, was recently named one of New Hampshire’s Top Doctors for 2012 in a reader survey conducted by New Hampshire Magazine and featured in the magazine’s April 2012 issue.
The magazine’s Top Doctors list reflects the opinions of New Hampshire patients who are polled annually and asked to recommend the best caregivers in a variety of specialties.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from my patients,” said Dr. Stetzer. “I know that when it comes to obstetrical care, trust is everything, and that makes this award even more meaningful.”
Dr. Stetzer joined the staff of Monadnock OB/GYN in March 2008. Previously, she was in practice with Greene Health Partners in Xenia, Ohio.
She holds a B.S. in psychology from the University of Michigan, and received her D.O. degree in May 1997 from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Stetzer completed her residency at St. John Riverview Hospital in Detroit, followed by her OB/GYN residency at Henry Ford/Horizon Health System in Warren, Michigan where she was chief resident from 2001 – 2002. She holds board certification from the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is also certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Stetzer and her husband, Randy have two children, Alec, age 8, and Shaelan, age 6.
