Healing Arts Gallery Reopens: The Monadnock Exhibition
A New Chapter Begins for the Healing Arts Gallery

Celebrating the Reopening with the Monadnock Exhibition and a Special Mural Unveiling

Lee Dunholter with wife, Soosen Dunholter who is a volunteer in the Healing Arts Gallery and their daughterMolly Dunholter, who is a CMA for Monadnock Regional PediatricsArt has the power to inspire, bring people together, and promote healing—values that are at the heart of the Healing Arts Gallery at Monadnock Community Hospital (MCH). After a temporary closure, we are thrilled to announce that the Healing Arts Gallery has reopened, marking its return with an exciting new exhibition and a special mural unveiling.

The Monadnock Exhibition: A Tribute to Local Artistry

To celebrate the gallery’s reopening, we hosted a special exhibition titled Monadnock, which ran through September 8th. This exhibition showcased the works of over 30 local artists, each offering their unique interpretation of the iconic Mount Monadnock. The diversity and creativity on display highlighted the deep connection our community has with this beloved natural landmark.

The Monadnock exhibition not only honored the local landscape but also reaffirmed the gallery’s commitment to supporting regional artists. As the region’s only 24/7/365 gallery, the Healing Arts Gallery provides a unique platform for artists to share their work with the public, enhancing the healing environment of MCH.

The Mural: A Lasting Legacy

In addition to the exhibition, we were proud to unveil a new permanent installation titled The Mural by artist Lee Dunholter during our centennial celebrations on June 3rd. This beautiful piece, now on display near the gallery entrance adjacent to the Sarah Hogate Bacon Emergency Department, adds a lasting touch of artistry to the hospital’s environment.

The unveiling was made even more special by the presence of Lee Dunholter and his family. His wife, Soosen Dunholter, who volunteers in the Healing Arts Gallery, and their daughter, Molly Dunholter, who is a Certified Medical Assistant for Monadnock Regional Pediatrics, joined us for the event. Their attendance underscored the personal connections and community spirit that the gallery embodies.

Looking Ahead: Quarterly Shows and More

As we look to the future, the Healing Arts Gallery is excited to continue its tradition of hosting quarterly exhibitions featuring local artists. These shows will provide ongoing opportunities for the community to engage with the arts and experience the healing power of creative expression.
