Buy extra non-perishable groceries and or arrange for someone to do the grocery shopping. oDriving you to and from physical therapy or doctors appointments. oGoing to the post office or running errands.oWalking the dog. oGoing to the bathroom, showering, or getting dressed. oDoing laundry. If you live alone, the orthopedic surgeons office, a social worker, or a discharge planner at the hospital can help you make arrangements for in-home support, such as home health care. Make sure to plan ahead! Exercising Prior to surgery, begin the hip arthritis exercises located at the end of this section. oThese will help you gain flexibility, strength, and endurance before your surgery. oIf any of the exercises hurt above normal pain, do not continue, or take a break and try again another day.
