Your Connection to Care

Telehealth Appointments with eVisits.

In today’s changing world, it’s nice to have options. Telehealth appointments at Monadnock Community Hospital offer a convenient and safe way to receive medical care from the comfort of your home. Telehealth appointments provide flexibility, allowing patients to consult with healthcare providers without the need to travel. With eVisits, patients can connect face-to-face with an MCH medical provider using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

All MCH primary care clinicians and most specialty practices offer eVisits. In addition, Medicare, NH Medicaid, and most private insurance companies have expanded their coverage of eVisits, so there may be no out-of-pocket costs to utilize these services. Check with your insurance carrier if you have questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an eVisit (telehealth appointment)?

A: An eVisit, also known as a telehealth appointment, is a virtual consultation that uses a secure video conferencing platform, similar to Skype or FaceTime, to connect healthcare providers with patients in different locations for outpatient care. Patients have reported high satisfaction with the convenience and quality of care they receive during eVisits, and most would recommend telehealth appointments to their friends and family.

Q: What are the benefits of an eVisit?

A: Virtual eVisits allow patients to get care from the comfort of their home, eliminating the time and cost of traveling for an in-person visit. In the future, patients will have access to an expanding range of specialists –without the long commute that’s often required. By seeing your provider from home, you are limiting your exposure to infectious diseases such as COVID-19 or the seasonal flu.

Q: What are the limitations of an eVisit?

A: During an eVisit, you may experience technical difficulties with your connection, or the software may impact what’s covered in your appointment. If this happens, you or your provider can decide to stop the visit and connect instead by telephone. It’s important to remember that if you choose to use data with your mobile phone carrier, depending on your phone plan, you may incur data usage fees. Other familiar aspects of a regular office visit such as vitals or a physical exam may be modified.

Your eVisit may also limit internet access to your other devices while in-progress. Examples would include Netflix or other video streaming channels, along with other smart devices.

Q: Is an eVisit safe and secure?

A: eVisits are safe, secure, and HIPAA-compliant. It is subject to the same privacy rules and regulations as in-person services.

Q: How do I prepare for my telehealth appointment?

A: To prepare for your telehealth appointment, ensure you have a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a quiet, private space. Have your medical information, questions, and any necessary documents ready for the consultation.
