1. Preparing for Child Birth

Saturday: 9:30-3:30 PM / Fee: $90.00

For 1st time expectant parents or if it has been several years since your last birth.

Includes: stages of labor, natural and medical pain management, variations of labor, Cesarean birth, guest speaker: anesthesiologist when possible, a tour of Maternity Unit and videos

2. "Combo-Fast Track" Childbirth

Mondays, 6:30 - 8:30 PM / Fee: $25.00

For 1st time expectant parents or parents who want a refresher class: A combination of on-line home study and classroom learning.

Before your class at home: Review Childbirth Education booklets View on-line videos such as: stages of labor, cesarean birth, epidurals, etc.

Attend one evening class, which includes a tour of the Maternity Unit, question and answer / discussion time, overview of the specifics of delivering at MCH.

3. New Parent and Baby Care

Saturdays, 9:00-11:00 AM / Fee: $25.00

For 1st time expectant parents.

Hands-On Baby Care: diapers and diapering, bathing, soothing a fussy baby and more

Visit with a Pediatrician from Monadnock Regional Pediatrics

New parent care: recovering from birth, what is normal, what is not normal, preparing for anew baby at home, signs of postpartum depression and more.

4. Massage and Relaxation for Labor/Birth Breathe Easy

Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:30 PM / Fee: $25.00

Learn basic massage for labor and delivery. Discussion of natural pain management and practice of relaxation and breathing exercises.

5. Big Brother / Big Sister Sibling
Big Brother / Big Sister Class

January: 11:15AM - 12:15 PM

Fee: $10.00 per family: for 3-10 years old

Where do babies come from, how babies are different from big kids, adjusting to a family, how to wrap, diaper and hold a new baby, a tour of the Maternity Unit, hands-on: making a birthday card for the new baby

6. Prenatal Bed-Rest Education

Fee: $20.00

For Moms who are unable to attend childbirth education classes: This is a self study  program which you do at home: reading and on-line. Includes 2 booklets and a Birthing Center RN will call you at home to follow-up with you about any questions you may have about labor, delivery or infant care.

7. Just for Moms, Breastfeeding Class

Fee: $25.00
Learn about the advantages of breastfeeding, how to be discreet, how breast make milk, milk supply, how to nurse a baby, pumping and going back to work and how to avoid common problems.

8. MOMS group: Meet Other Mothers

Fee: No charge.

A support group for new mothers: information, discussion and sharing about feeding concerns, sleep issues, parenting, going back to work or not. For mothers with infants up to 12 months old.

9. Cesarean Birth Education

Fee: No charge.

For Moms planning a scheduled Cesarean birth. Written information will be sent out to Moms and a Registered Nurse from the Birthing Unit will call you to discuss birthing plans and answer questions.

Try one free week of classes and gym time at the Bond Wellness Center:
just ask your doctor for a Wellness Center prescription.

Prenatal Aquatics: Members Fee: $5.00 / Non-Members Fee: $7.00
Classes taught by Birthing Center RN’s- pregnancy, labor and delivery discussions after exercising, in the warm therapy pool.

Call 924-4650 for details and to register for either of the above Wellness Center Classes.

Fees for classes:

Check with your insurance carrier for reimbursement of class fees.

Financial Assistance available: Call 924-1717 and ask about the MCH Financial Grant Program. WIC and Medicaid Application/ Assistance available from Home Health Care and Community Services Prenatal Program: contact Holly Bee at: 603-352-2253

Combination Class Packages: take any 2 or more classes and take $10.00 off each class
(not including the Wellness Center Classes at this time or the Big Brother and Big Sister Sibling Class)
