[0] => Monadnock Community Hospital is proud to celebrate a historic moment: Laura Moran, RN, has been honored with the 2025 Clint Jones Nursing Award by the Foundation for Healthy Communities. This prestigious recognition is presented annually to a registered nurse in New Hampshire who demonstrates compassionate, high-quality patient care and a strong commitment to professional growth and leadership.Laura is the first nurse from MCH to receive this award in its 19-year history.A nurse on MCH’s Medical-Surgical unit since 2023, Laura quickly distinguished herself through her clinical skill, calm professionalism, and heartfelt compassion. Her impact on patients and colleagues alike has been recognized through multiple DAISY Award nominations and a DAISY Award in 2024.
“Laura consistently goes above and beyond for her patients, demonstrating exceptional clinical precision, empathy, and clear communication,” said Kaitlyn Priest, RN, her supervisor and award nominator. “She is a true asset to our team.”
The Clint Jones Nursing Award was established in 2006 to honor the memory of Clint Jones, former director of the Foundation’s Nursing Workforce Partnership. The award highlights nurses in their first six years of practice who are making a profound difference in their field. It is designed to spotlight emerging leaders who model the future of nursing in New Hampshire.Laura’s journey to nursing is as inspiring as her clinical excellence. A devoted wife and mother of nine, she homeschooled her children for years before pursuing her long-held dream of becoming a nurse. Once her youngest child entered high school, Laura enrolled in nursing school and never looked back.
“Nursing is more than a job to Laura—it’s a calling,” said Chief Nursing Officer Vicki Campanile. “She exemplifies the core values of nursing: compassion, excellence, and dedication to lifelong learning. She is truly an inspiration to us all.”
In addition to her work at the bedside, Laura is actively pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and regularly engages in professional development. “She eagerly participates in educational opportunities both inside and outside the organization,” said Priest. “She also selflessly shares the knowledge she gains with her coworkers, making her a role model and mentor.”Laura was honored during National Nurses Week in May 2025 and will be formally recognized again at the NHHA & FHC Annual Meeting this October.
