MCH Receives Gold Standard Award for Employee Safety
Liberty Mutual presented Monadnock Community Hospital with a Gold Standard Award for Employee Safety. During the period October 1, 2006 and September 30, 2007, the hospital achieved one full year without lost time from a work related injury or accident.
Michael White, Account Executive with Liberty Mutual, said, "I handle worker's comp insurance for 12 hospitals in New Hampshire. In 22 years, this is the first time I have given this award!" He attributes this achievement to level of attention MCH gives to employee safety. The Occupational Health Department works hard to identify work related injuries and helps employees recover quickly.
Robin Nolan, RN, and manager of Occupational Health at MCH also credits the facilities staff at MCH for maintaining the property and grounds. Slips and falls are the 2nd common cause of lost time at work. Ms. Nolan says, "The employees at MCH are more safety conscious because of the attention we give to their claims. They know we really care! Keeping our employees healthy is a priority at MCH."
