Diabetes Education Program
Monadnock Community Hospital provides an American Diabetes Association recognized education program for people with diabetes and their families. The education program is designed to help people understand diabetes and to teach the skills necessary for self-care. Improving diabetes control, minimizing the need for medications and insulin, and preventing diabetes related complications are the goals of the program.
The program meets weekly for eight sessions. Classes are taught by Certified Diabetes Nurse Educators, physicians, Registered Dieticians, and exercise physiologists. Most insurances cover diabetes education. Evening classes are available.
This program is strongly recommended for people who want to take an active role in the management of their diabetes. After the eight-week program, participants should feel confident in their knowledge and skills surrounding their own personal diabetes treatment plan.
Personalized counselling is available with our Registered Dieticians and Certified Diabetes Nurse Educators. Most insurance cover diabetes education.
